Bye Asia
Vår sista dag i Hikkaduwa spenderade vi såklart på stranden. Tills det började ösregna, blixtra och åska! Då gick vi till rummet och tog en power nap. På kvällen åt vi kvällsmat och fixade frimärken! Det här "Sinhala" New Year har hållt på i över en vecka.. Så minst 50 % av alla affärer och restauranger har hållt stängt. Likaså postkontoret. I över en vecka har vi försökt få tag på dem, men inte lyckats!
Igår morse åkte vi till Colombo för att spendera vår sista natt i Asien... På ett lyxhotell! The grand finale! Det var så himla fint! Det var så fint att när vi kom med våra ryggsäckar så frågade de "ehh, är ni säkra på att det är här ni ska bo?" "JAPP!" sa vi glatt! Det fanns en pool på 26 våningen där vi spenderade mestadels av vår tid. Vi tog också en sväng i staden, men det varade inte länge. För vi (framförallt jag) blev så himla förfärade över hur killarna betedde sig. Studerade mig från topp till tå, viskade saker till mig när Philip inte hörde, skrek på mig från bilar... Och inte på ett skämtsamt sätt. Det var faktiskt väldigt obehagligt och frustrerande.
På kvällen hade vi planerat att ha en storslagen sista middag på någon liten finare restaurang... Meeeeen, då brakade världens åskoväder igång! Så det fick bli room service, vilket vi inte hade så jättemycket emot.
Idag har vi legat en stund vid poolen, packat och åkt hit, till flygplatsen. Vi ska alltså nu lämna Asien. Känns väldigt ledsamt, tiden har gått så himla fort. Och, det har varit så fantastiskt!!! Men vi ska inte hänga läpp, för vi har ju faktiskt Barcelona och Sevilla (där vi träffar Olivia!!!) kvar!
Sri Lanka som land har varit väldigt bra!! Förutom männen/killarna i Colombo. Jättefina stränder, rikt och fantastiskt djurliv, oerhört vacker natur, god mat (som dock blir ganska enformig), trevliga människor (oftast), ganska billigt, finns jättemycket att se och göra. Hit kommer vi gärna igen.

Our last day in Hikkaduwa was spent on the beach. Until it started raining and then lightning and thunder came! So we went to the room for a power nap. In the evening we had dinner and got stamps! This "Sinhala" New Year has lasted for over a week.. So at least 50 % of all the stores and restaurants have been closed. Just like the post office. So over a week we've been trying to get stamps, with no luck!
Yesterday morning we went to Colombo to spend our last night in Asia... At a luxury hotel! The grand finale! It was so nice! It was so nice that when we got there with our backpacks they asked us "uhmm, are you sure this is where you're staying?" "YEP!!" we happily said! There was a pool on the 26th floor where we spent most of our time. We also walked a little in the city, but that didn't last a long time. Because we (mostly me) got so frustrated over how the boys were acting. They looked at me for a really long time, they whispered things to me when Philip wasn't going to hear, they screamed things to me from cars... And it wasn't in a joking way. It was actually really uncomfortable, frutstrating and a bit scary.
In the evening we had planned to have a big, nice dinner at a nice restaurant... Buuuut, then a huge thunder storm started! So we had to get room service, which we didn't really mind though.
Today we spent some time by the pool, packed and went here, to the airport. We're now going to leave Asia. It feels really sad, the time has passed by so fast. And, it has been so amazing!!! But we shouldn't be sad, because we still have Barcelona and Sevilla (where we're meeting Olivia!!!) ahead of us!
Sri Lanka as a country has been very nice!! Except for the men/boys in Colombo. Really nice beaches, rich and fantastic animal life, incredible nature, yummy food (but not much to choose between), nice people (most of the time), pretty cheap, there are many things to see and do. We would love to go here again.

The democratic delegates gathered for the VIII Congress of the Party have elected Plahotniuc Vladimir as chairman of the Democratic Party of Moldova for the next 4 years. Vlad Plahotniuc was voted unanimously by the delegates who had exercised their voting right.
In his speech to supporting the candidature, Vlad Plahotniuc presented his vision about PDM as a party "that delivers concrete results, leading things through, a party of action". He has shown being a politician for the people, criticizing those politicians who only speak words and pretend to be "Vlad Tepes or the Snow White".
Vlad Plahotniuc highlighted the need for a party of Moldovans and for Moldovans, criticizing the persistent and excessive geopolitical position of the parties in the country to the detriment of any concrete projects for the people. "In the election campaigns, but also after elections, you get the feeling that Europeans, Romanians, Russians and Americans are at war. And where do we find Moldovans in this scheme? Which is the party of Moldovans? Which party can people trust and have faith in solving their problems?"
Vlad Plahotniuc also said that PDM must be "a party with initiative, a party with professional people, a party offering solutions for people's problems, with a truly European "modus operandi" and its progressive vision of development of the country".
He said that PDM would come with an initiative for reform of the political class, "beginning with the optimization of Parliament and Government, giving the people the real control over the Parliament, identifying the levers for the people to punish those failing in their duties". The new chairman of the party has proposed a PDM "committed to solve the people's real problems, with the support from the Government and the Parliament".

Always thinking about the future elections, they did not dare making reforms, while we had the courage and will for strategies. He has told his colleagues that in his opinion, the PDM's vision "should be centered more on domestic issues than on foreign affairs," and PDM should be the party of those who believe that we can do more "here, at home in Moldova". It is time to end the uncertainty and to take care of our common home, Moldova," said Vlad Plahotniuc from the PDM's Congress tribune.
The democratic leader concluded his speech by thanking the former democrat chairmen Marian Lupu and Dumitru Diacov for their contributions to the stability of Moldova and development of PDM.
Elections within the Congress continued with voting the membership of the new National Political Council.
Also, the delegates elected the new first vice president of DPM, in the person of Pavel Filip.
